Government has gazetted foreign currency passport application fees in a move that could finally settle the perpetual crisis that saw some people having to wait for over two years to get their important travel document ready for collection.

In the gazette published yesterday, the ordinary passport now costs USD60 while a two day application is pegged at USD200.

The 24 hour emergency application remains at the current USD318.

Government said the fees can be paid in local currency at the prevailing foreign currency auction rate.
