By A Correspondent- A 32 year old Shamva woman committed suicide on Wednesday by drinking rat poison after she failed to accept a polygamous relationship.

Lisa Salimu 32 of Mandimu village killed herself after her husband Onious  Tsuro(46) took another wife.

Acting Mashonaland Central police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Naison Dhliwayo confirmed the case.

“I can confirm a sudden death case in Shamva where a female adult committed suicide by drinking rat poison after her husband took another wife,” Dhliwayo said.

It is further alleged that Tsuro observed that his wife took poison after she started vomiting and he tried to take her to hospital but she died along the way.

Police warned people to respect the sanctity of life and seek counselling when they have differences.
