The Ministry of Health and Child Care has failed to implement its vaccination programme as expected due to dire transport problems in Masvingo Province.

According to acting Masvingo Provincial Medical Director, Kudzai Masinire, the vaccination programme meant to combat cervical cancer, is yet to be carried out in Chiredzi and Mwenezi Districts due to poor road networks and shortage of vehicles.

Girls aged between 10 and 14 are being immunised under the programme.

“We are happy with what we have achieved so far.However we are yet to carry out the exercise in areas like Mwenezi and Chiredzi due to transport challenges,” said Masinire.
