Embattled MDC legislator Jessie Majome has castigated party supporters for passing derogatory comments on former vice president Thokozani Khupe.

Majome wrote on Facebook yesterday:” I cannot accept the abuse of women, or men for
any reason.

There’s simply no excuse whatsoever
for sexist hate speech and intimidation – none!

Not
politics, not anger, nothing! That’s why our
Constitution guarantees rights to dignity( Section 51,
protection from degrading treatment).

Section 53 stresses psychological integrity and protection from all
violence forms while Section 52 emphasises equal protection and benefit of
the law – Section 56.

In addition Section 95(1)(a) of the Criminal
Code makes it a Criminal offence to criminally insult
: impair another’s dignity like what was done to @Khupe.
