By Own Correspondent| MDC T primaries held today (Friday) brew a shocker after party bigwigs were shown the exit in elections which were generally described as peaceful.
Sitting legislators for Mabvuku Tafara, James Maridadi, Zengeza West’s Simon Chidhakwa and Glen View North’s Fani Munengami all lost their bids to represent the party in the forthcoming harmonised polls after they were trounced in the primary elections.
In a highly contested race, Munengami secured 362 votes against Kennedy Dinha’s 389 and another candidate identified as Mashaya who scored 138 votes. A total of 14 votes were however spoiled.
In Mabvuku Tafara, McLynton James Chidhakwa garnered 498 votes against sitting legislator James Maridadi’s 394 votes and another candidate identified as Chikwanha who got 359 votes.
In Zengeza West, Chitungwiza, Job “Wiwa” Sikhala romped to victory defeating the sitting legislator Simon Chidhakwa and one other candidate identified as Mutingwende.
