Tinashe Sambiri|The country’s vibrant political formation, MDC Alliance has called for the immediate resignation of Reuben Barwe from the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation.

Predictably Barwe won the Zanu PF DCC Elections in Makoni and media experts say his victory will compromise his professional ethics.

Barwe is a man who has a soft spot for Zanu PF as reflected by his traceable reporting trend.

MDC Alliance spokesperson, Advocate Fadzai Mahere urged Barwe to resign with immediate effect.

“The fact that Reuben Barwe continues to work as a journalist at ZBC notwithstanding his newly minted Zanu PF role is the clearest sign that media reforms are urgent.

The Constitution forbids this politicization of the state broadcaster.

We need new leaders,” said Advocate Mahere.

MDC Alliance Youth Assembly spokesperson, Stephen Sarkozy Chuma implored the national broadcaster to fire Barwe.

“Now that it’s clear that Mr Barwe is a Zanu PF member, I urge the national broadcaster to dismiss him as a matter of urgency,”said Chuma.
