Tinashe|The postponement of the trial of MDC Alliance Councillor for ward 18, Chiredzi West, Gilbert Mutubuki, is deliberately meant to gag the youthful politician, the party’s youth assembly has said.
Councillor Mutubuki is also the MDC Alliance Masvingo provincial youth assembly secretary general.

Masvingo Youth Assembly In Solidarity
Masvingo Provincial Youth Secretary and Councillor for Chiredzi Town Council Gilbert Mutubuki appeared before Triangle Magistrate Court this morning.
The case was represented by vibrant human rights Lawyer Advocate Mureri . Magistrate Chikodzore further postponed the continuation of trial to 23 December. The reason cited was that one of the witnesses couldn’t understand Shona, but Shangani only, a questionable reason that may give us much doubt and persmestic on Zimbabwean Court’s fairness and competence.
The court said they would wait for 23 december inorder to bring an interpreter. It is also questionable that the courts knowing very much that they are surrounded mostly by the Shangani/Tsonga people in the area they dont have a readily available interpreter. The postponement is meant for nothing but to persecute the accused and henceforth potrays how the judiciary and the prosecuting authority is captured by the Zanupf regime.The Case has also been transferred to Chiredzi Magistrate Courts from Triangle.
The delay in trial is further denying Councillor Mutubuki his freedom of movement and peace of mind. Like anyone else during festive season one might want to travel ,or he might also want to commit himself to other programs upon his authority as a Councillor and Provincial Youth Secretary. It is from this act of the judiciary that bias and capture is foreseen.
Chiredzi west Youth Chair Lenny together with other Chiredzi leaders attended the court. As supportive as they are Councillor Mutubuki ‘s Parents and family also attended in solidarity . Meanwhile as MDC Alliance Youth we shall not retreat to support our fellow leader.
