By Staff Reporter| The MDC party’s dinner dance slated for today has been cancelled and the function postponed to a to be announced future date.
While the below official statement was made by the party’s Deputy President Elias Mudzuri, sources in the MDC told ZimEye.com this is because of the leader’s illness which has taken an unpredictable turn.
“This is all because of Save’s condition, and we don’t know when he will return home,” a source close the party presidium told ZimEye.
Meanwhile below was Mudzuri’s official statement regarding the latest development:
The Annual Presidential Dinner Dance Committee wishes to announce the postponement of the 2017 Annual Dinner Dance to January 2018.
A new date will be announced in due course.

In case you don’t know by now, MDC-T allowed the personality of Tsvangirai to overshadow everything and everyone. Have you ever wondered why the party has Tsvangirai’s surname MDC-T[svangirai]? What do you think will happen if Tsvangirai becomes incapacitated, a few months before elections? The party will splinter as the Vices fight for the top position and eventually the party will fall like dominoes. That is what ED and crew averted when they managed Bob out of the system. Instead of weakening, ZANU PF has become stronger and their chances of faring well in the elections are very bright. MDC-T is squandering the chance of renewal by hanging on to the coat tails of a sick man.
Elias Mudzuri remains the single most promising leader after MRT. The rest of the immature clowns are either nephews of Robert Mugabe or cousins and some are closely related to the aspirant Joyce Mujuru, while a coterie of others still run to ZANUPF with “internal reports” on their own party. It is going to be a melodrama if MRT finally departs to the spirit world. The illness of a top political leader should have been viewed as a matter of SECURITY by the MDC T. But it was not. They let their leader be falsely diagnosed and put onto a treatment that is globally known as a one way ticket to the cemetery. Nobody, but nobody survives chemotherapy worldwide. Alternatives exist, which could very easily have reversed the condition. Mentioning this to senior members of the MDC T party (and most Zim public) brings guffaws of “you-are-mad” incredulity from them. Ignorance has the loudest laughter. Meanwhile, Russians, French, Koreans, Germans, Canadians, Americans, British, Australians are flocking to Zim quietly to get powders from three Zim women whose condiments completely reverse more than thirty different kinds of “cancer”. You can’t help feeling that the hawks are circling in the MDC T skies. The lazy ones are just waiting for a dying man’s shoes.
he fought a good hard fight when everyone in Zim could not stand up to RG. I respect him for that , he is my hero , murume chaiye , but time for passing the baton is now, Mudzuri , Chamisa Khupe are very capable pple. New ideas and new targets are needed. But what is this cry about Tsvangiarai resigning????? There are 3 vices to MDC T. What do you want Tsvangiarai to do/ What is Tsvangirai stopping that would happen when he resigns? If MDC T has anything in their sleeves let them go on and do it now, today or tomorrow. Tsvangirai has not stopped anything. Let the party function, there is enough personal. So this thing that Tsvangirai should resign should come to an end please. MDC T LEADERS GO ON AND WORK, PLAN AND EXECUTE WHAT SHOULD BE DONE and stop waiting for Save if you are waiting as these behind keyboards people say. Haah satsha, Tsvangirai this Tsvangirai that!
