“We cannot pretend that we agree with or understand your idea, but what we are certain about is we do not want the bond notes, hatizikumada,” Mawarire boldly told Mangudya during the meeting.
Also speaking at the function was Advocate Fadzai Mahere who articulated the constitutional and legal arguments against bond notes. Her presentation is on the video above.
The under fire Mangudya took over from former RBZ boss, Gideon Gono who retired in 2013, has had a torrid time in office, beginning with his education (doctorate) credentials now under scrutiny that they are reportedly dubious.
“We are here for Ambuya vaHector who still does not understand what happened to everything she put aside that she would enjoy as a pension, but now she is about to lose it all again; we are here for the orphan who depends on generous donations from kind citizens and is now about to have that kindness from citizens snatched away,” Mawarire gave some examples as he narrated the daily ordeals endured by the majority of Zimbabweans.
Mawarire, a well-known Harare author, toastmaster and church leader, in online videos that have gone viral over the past weeks, details the issues that daily affect Zimbabweans as the economy continues to daily deteriorate.
“It is not only irresponsible but immoral to put at risk the lives of citizens of Zimbabwe, who already face enormous challenges, emanating from promises made to us by our government that have not materialised,” continued the Pastor.
He continued, “we believe that it is possible to come up with a host of solutions if your office is willing to engage and listen to our own Zimbabwean professionals and economic experts from our banking and financial services,” he suggested to Mangudya who sat at the high table appearing to be listening attentively.
However, the question remained whether Mangudya is able to capture the public mood and make sound policy changes.
“We are here to save the little earnings that we have worked so hard to accumulate since the economic disaster of 2008 that our own government created and allowed to maul us,” Mawarire.

Truths, in fact truth does not exist and that is why you are uttering rubbish. Secondly some of us will not be forced to use the bond notes like you say because we have a choice and the means. We are merely fighting for those who will be put in a real predicament because there are people like you who think they have found the truths. It is not about the truths, it is about individual rights and a government which respects its own constitution. In any way, even if you are going to print the bond notes, it is those who have US$ who can make the bond notes worth something. For your own sake, your masters still want to use the US$ as a yardstick. Why not use Zim$ as a yard stick?. You know very well that you have run down your integrity that no one will even take you seriously, even when pronounced dead. The solution is RGM steps down ans the nation is totally politicised with a overt truth commission dealing with all atrocities corruption etc. The truth must come out. Zimbabwe needs repentance
