How hopeless is your situation? Do you feel that you at stuck in life, going round and round in circles? There is hope for you.
To Those Who Have Been Disappointed
Accept that you were frustrated or hurt by what transpired. There may be need to seek help in form of counselling, prayer or just someone to let things off your chest. Put up a plan to move out of the frustrated state. Do not team up with other frustrated people who continually mourn about how badly they were treated. But instead surround yourself with positive people, people who say that ‘no matter what happened you can make it.’ Remember that many people have been frustrated in life, some did not make it but others made it. Most of those who made it used the negative situation as a motivation for their success. Put up another plan for your live. Remember disappointments and frustrations are test and trails, the essential ingredients to build the right stamina for success.
To Those Facing The Challenge Of Unemployment
Take yourself as someone waiting for a job. You may not have a job but you have time, lots of it. Do not waste it because you may never have such abundance of time. Use the time to explore and discover your major talents and develop them. Develop your hobby instead of looking at what you do not have. In some cases the hobbies and talents people discovered in times of unemployment proved to be their calling. Some never looked for a job again. Concentration on your passion, talents and hobbies relieves you from the temptation to get sad and depressed. Study and develop new skills. Keep up to date with the trends in your career and industry. Develop a good network, not just to get a job, but for strategic reasons, and fun. Remember you do not just want to get a job but you want to stay on it and become one of the best. Do not be short sighted. So keep the bigger picture in mind.
To The ‘Stay At Home’ Mom Or Dad
Some of you are called to raise your family. This is one of the most noble callings. First embrace your calling and seek to be an expert. For your information stay at home parents have invaded a number of things and some of them ended developing businesses around this first calling. Have a clear plan of where you want to take the family and home. Get training in the respective skills you need like home economics (this includes budgeting, cooking, home décor, etc,) that is, how to run a home in an economic way, raising children, gardening, building management, marriage, etc. Remember there is also the extended family. It is not about cleaning and feeding people but it is about making an impact and being a blessing to your family and beyond.
To Those Who Failed At School or College Or At Work.
Many people did not make the pass grades at school. Some had to leave college or work due to poor performance.
I read the book ‘Millionaire Mind’ by Dr Thomas J Stanley who also wrote ‘The Millionaire Next Door’ few years ago. His books and papers are based on surveys of over 1,200 millionaires studied over 20 year period. Now, according to his studies most millionaires, that is, economic successful people, come from average students and many of them failed or were not accepted at colleges on first attempt. One of the stories I read is about Dane, a deca-millionaire. He graduated with a degree in marketing. He was fire from his first job two year later due to under performance. Well, by the time he was interviewed by Dr Stanley he had been fire from 7 jobs due to not meeting targets or under performance, and from 2 jobs because the companies were closing. On his 10th job the position was in marketing consulting. This job involved planning, analysing customers and making deals. Within few weeks he turned out to be the best performer.  And he ended up owning the company. In all these 9 jobs he was fired they involved talking to customers, but Dane was not a talking type. He was an analytical person who is excellent at preparing a deal. He was a ‘deal maker’ and that’s how he finally became a deca-millionaire. A little turn in his career changed everything.
The fact that you failed in one or two things does not mean you cannot do anything! Why worry about 1 or 2 things you cannot do well when there are 149 things you are excellent at. Find what went wrong and repeat. If you cannot make it again, trust yourself and your inner voice. At times change things around until you find your way.
There Are Four Types of Work Situations
There are four types of jobs/work situation; the work we enjoy and the work we do not enjoy. The work we are naturally talented at and the work we are not so talented at.
If you do work that you; enjoy and are good at it this is the ideal perfect situation. We can call it situation A. If you enjoy your work but not talented at it, we can call it situation B. If you are talented at your work but do not enjoy it, we can call it situation C. If you are not talented at you work and you do not enjoy it, we can call it situation D.
Find out where you are, in situation A, B, C or D. Finding out what you enjoy and discovering your talent is the most critical ingredient for your success. Start drifting towards your most the ideal situation.
Do not give up hope, because you were made for a purpose. Just discover it. Sometimes it takes more time than others. But if you seek you will find.
Finally
Remember that old Kenyan man who went to primary school when he was over 80 years old. Well, he made history, but more over his story was so inspiring that a British organisation had to make a movie, The First Grader  based on this story. And the movie got awards in 2010.
So, you see, your situation has opportunities in it. Look for them.
