Staff Reporter| If the run up to the 2018 elections has to be weighed on the strength of public demonstrations, the current state of affairs is a convincing ZANU PF 1 – 0 MDC T with ZANU PF probably enjoying a 90% possession.
The ruling party planned for a million man march into Harare and managed to pull an extremely convincing figure of about 300 000 into the capital city to express their satisfaction with the leadership of President Mugabe.
The ZANU PF march comes a couple of months after rival opposition party Movement for Democratic Change led by Morgan Tsvangirai held a similar march which attracted just under 5 000 people out of a target of 100 000 people.
Mugabe’s march left the whole world stunned as very few people expected Zimbabweans to respond in the numbers they did in support of Mugabe under the current economic conditions in the country.
The MDCT will this weekend attempt another strike at Mugabe by holding another demonstration in Bulawayo.
But commented Mugabe supporter, Dr. Masimba Mavaza on the Mugabe march:”ZANU PF can claim success because they mobilized a significant number of willing masses. This is a serious show of democratic force. The human forces were everywhere. They came in jovial mood, they sang and praised their leader.”

Whatever stuff this writer smokes, damn it’s got him/ her talking about maize farming in the sea. Totally ridiculous! Zanu pf looted state resources to mobilise people from all over the country whereas the MDC demo was attended by the Harare province. Zanu pf would never allow a free and credible election, there are still suffering from the 2908 shock election result.
The povo were forced to go to this march. As usual the youth went and threatened to beat anyone who did not obey orders to go to the march. Where are the willing masses. There were no 300 000 marchers that is a lie.

This reporter should do some research on what happened to Mobutu before he was overthrown.

well said @ hapana zvamunodiita the stupid zanu thing was a nationwide as compared to the MDC that was only for Harare and for a limited time. the reporter is a lost somebody. the zanu had all the stolen resources and managed to get to their numbers. if they do have support y talking of only 1 million march, Zimbabwe population is far up than that.
reporter misled.

The BIG question is were all the people there willing??? Zanu PF knows better the answer to this question. But unfortunately they choose to believe otherwise. How the human mind operates.
Pathetic staff reporter u r. 2 begin wit nt al people who came 2 è ZANU PF march were willing, some were vendors forced 2 close shop n attend, others were commuters/travellers diverted 2 è gathering. I dnt knw hw u gt è 300 000-5000 ZANU-MDC figures respectively. 4 yo own info MDC supporters went 2 è demo willingly out of their own pockets whilst ZANU PF forcibly took school buses n other private transport without paying a dime 2 take them 2 è March. È MDC demo ws for Harare only while dat 4 ZANU PF ws a nationwide march including foreign youth groupings. Amai vakono
