By Langton Ncube| The Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association has recommended the dismissal of the Zimbabwe Republic Police chief, Augustine Chihuri.

Speaking at a meeting in Makonde last week  the association’s Mashonaland west provincial vice-chairperson Morgan Chipanga said President Emmerson Mnangagwa should fire Chihuri, with immediate effect.

The war veterans are accusing Chihuri of corruption emanating from police road blocks.

They are saying  Chihuri must account for all the money that was collected by the police which was never remitted to Treasury.

“Comrades, let’s not beat around the bush. Chihuri should be accountable to the money collected by the police and must tell the nation how the money was used,” said Chipanga.

“He must be fired with immediate effect and the country is waiting for that answer,” said the war veterans’ senior official.
