Kennedy Kaitano | For all the many Zimbabweans who had pinned their hopes for economic revival and prosperity on the taking over of Zanu PF from Mugabe by Comrade Emmerson Mnangagwa, the just ended Zanu PF special Congress has all but confirmed that Zanu PF will never change, and should brace themselves for harder times with a younger dictator who indirectly and cleverly told his supporters to violently crush significant opposition, and admitted cannot be uprooted in Zanu PF
Comrade Emmerson Mnangagwa is known for speaking with a forked tongue, and that is largely why he earned the nickname Garwe (Crocodile), because he sheds crocodile tears when he deals with his opponents, and he just did that at the Zanu PF. As correctly captured by The Herald who covered the event live, at 17.56 Zimbabwean time on Friday 15 December, President Mnangagwa is reported by The Herald as told the delegates that “the party has been revived and the party faithful should desist from violence during the 2018 elections as there is no opposition to talk about. So, its all there for us all to see, the party supporters are being told to refrain from violence only when there is no opposition to talk about. Indirectly, and this is his true position from information gleaned from party insiders, he is telling his supporters that if the opposition proves popular, crush it.
Comrade Mnangagwa didn’t get the nickname Garwe for nothing, and those who know him well will confirm he was simply telling his supporters to carefully watch the movements in the opposition, and once they show signs of gaining support, bash them.
A correct admission Comrade Mnangagwa also made was that corruption is still rampant in Zanu PF and can never be uprooted. To quote The Herald verbatim at 17.46 hours Zimbabwean time on Friday 15 December 2017, President Mnangagwa “asked the party members to vow that the evil of corruption should come to an end. The President says some people sought donations on behalf of the party as they prepared for this extraordinary congress but the money never arrived. What a revelation.
How then can we trust another Zanu PF government to manage the affairs of the country, when corruption continues to run unabated at a time when the party should be trying to portray the best of itself in order to win hearts. Most worrying is the fact that the President himself, by his own admission, is sitting on a list of people who defrauded the country by externalising large sums of money and doing nothing to get them to bring it back because he does not want to embarrass them. Why spend valuable time when you know the culprits. This proves he is not the leader who can stamp out corruption, the biggest cancer that has killed the Zimbabwean economy.
Zimbabweans must read the signs and respond accordingly. I have been talking to a few people who have now realised the mistake they made in pinning their hopes on Comrade Mnangagwa, but are also not sure if their votes will not be manipulated, and these fears justify the need for international supervision in order to make the 2018 free and fair.
Zimbabweans may wish and wish and wish that Zanu PF and its people can change, but be reminded, a leopard never changes its spots.

Ethnic groups of Zimbabwe are behaving NO DIFFERENT from Cultural Groups the world over: They are supporting their Cultural Integrity, WHICH IS NATURAL!
Would we love for the different Ethnic/language groups of Zimbabwe (AND OF ALL AFRICAN COUNTRIES) to quickly find a solution to this intractable challenge? YES!
However, minds that are smug in their ignorance and delusion will not help Africans of different Ethnic Identity find common ground among each other in the same geographical space.
Little wonder you do not want to blame the racist rhodesian; you and those devils share the same moronic mentality.
You delude yourselves that Africans are like animals: Just pick them up from anywhere, toss them together, and the should quickly assimilate one another … even if they are of different ethnic/cultural/language origins.

We ought to be able to look at each other as citizens not Zezuru, Karanga or Manyika or Ndebele when looking at national issues. But when comparing cultures or engaging in cultural exchanges we CAN refer to our ethnic origins with due pride.

Please go and devote yourself some contemplation on the fact that FORCING different ethnic groups to occupy the same geographical space IS the problem.
It is the source of ethnic tension all over Africa.
People ARE NOT “stupid” to favor that which has been natural to them for countless generations — their ethnic group and indigenous geography.

Africans of Zimbabwe have to find a way to make their multi-ethnic nation work.

Africans all over the Continent have a HARD TASK of re-creating in their image, the eurpean-created African countries, WHICH WAS DESIGNED ONLY FOR THE INTEREST of the evil european invaders, and arab invaders too!
Do you know any political leader in human history, who rose to power and then readily surrendered his seat “freely and fairly” to his opponents? Power is NEVER handed out in a plate. The role of an ascendant leader is firstly to consolidate his power and enhance his position. He does this by adhering to his PARTY constitution first before the national one. He must rally his “troops” for a long and grueling fight with the opposition parties and must strive to minimize the incidence of internal enemies against him in his own party because that will be his launch pad during any elections to come. The current status of opposition is fragmented but the players would like to give the impression that it is solid. Any alliance of political parties must be launched on the back of a unified collective constitution with universal principles that apply to all participants. Only CODE appears to have followed this and the other island alliances appear to be playing ambush games in which they will dump each other when there is no longer time for standalone campaigns. Small parties will likely be flashed down the drain. The other headache among parties is the dwindling of donor resources, preceded by gross misappropriation of earlier funds that found their way into the buying of luxury homes and vehicles, farm land on foreign soils, and fanciful investments and even “secret” externalization of some monies to foreign bank accounts. Then of course there is the infernally stupid and myopic ethnocentrism and regionalism where the Zezuru-Karanga-Manyika-Ndebele hatred still simmers and loyalty is given on this ticket rather than a national one. Those who used to get survive on the fat of the previous regime are the most bitter and angry for their losses. Their tones say it all. This is our challenge. Pretence. As always.

So you think Zimbos are so daft that someone from the West has to show them the way? That march to unsit Mugabe did not convert and baptise everyone into Zanu Pf. The man was standing in the way of a true Zimbabwe. A hardworking, peaceful, prosperous nation for all, regardless of political affiliation.
Mnangagwa is only a transional President, our vote for him lies in how he will be able to unite us as a country and how soon he can pull us out of this 37 year mess. He must walk the talk and also tame some of his guys who still have a babaric Zanu Pf in their minds. That party can repent and be there for all. Dump your stupid hate inducing slogans like PASI NEMHANDUUU, PASI NANHINGI. They belong to past and should stay there.
If someone thinks differently does that make them your enemy? What a dull world this would be if everyone wore a red suit, and all cars where Peugot 404. Different means diverse.
