President Emmerson Mnangagwa has been accused of influencing the decision to appoint one Langton Mupeta the District Administrator for Shurugwi.

Mupeta is a declared Mnangagwa apologist, according to government sources.

Mupeta has been serving as the acting DA for the past few years and Mnangagwa is behind his ascendancy, according to government sources in the area.

“Mupeta will play a key role in campaigning for the President and the ruling party.

Mupeta is an ex-soldier so he has been elevated in a calculated political strategy meant to drum up support for Zanu PF,” a government source claimed yesterday.

Mupeta was not immediately available for a comment on the matter.
