By Farai D Hove| MDC leader Nelson Chamisa has said President Emmerson Mnangagwa cannot be a hero of two struggles.

Speaking in a wide ranging interview to the ANN7’s Audrey Chimwada last night, Chamisa was asked if he feels he is in in a better position to bridge the gap between the old and the new generation.

Chimwada asked him saying, “the number of issues that we want to talk to you before we invite your Alliance partners to be a part of this conversation they are equally as important tide nationalism we have read about how you have blasted for lack of a better word at the current Emmerson Mnangagwa, with regards to his age that he is not able to be in touch with new generation, what is called the millennials. You feel that you are in a better position to bridge that gap, as we know that the youth are the future of the country?

To this Chamisa said, “well I must thank you that you have given us the opportunity to come here and articulate what we stand for; we are not just an opposition to the current government, will represent an alternative proposition of the current policies that we believe, are going to take Zimbabwe to the next level, and our platform has been anchored on three pillars – that is transformation providing opportunity for Zimbabweans and prosperity.

“That is the basis upon which we are campaigning. We are not just opposing for the sake of just opposing, but we are coming in with a raft of new policies new programmes new ideas, new Solutions to our country.

“We are saying yes president Mnangagwa has done a lot he did a lot for the liberation of the country and We Salute him for that. But he can’t Be A Hero of two struggles; the Struggle for liberation and the Struggle for transformation.

“The Struggle for transformation if I struggle as a young people, and as the game changers in this very important election, we feel that the task to transform our country belongs to all of us.”
