By Terrence Mawawa| The United Kingdom has reportedly given Zimbabwe a total £45million since 2014.
This was announced by the UK’s donor and development division DFID’s head Annabel Gerry last Friday.
She was speaking at the launch of Zimbabwe’s agriculture policy at the Harare International Conference Centre.
“DFID has provided £45 million since 2014,” she said [see video].
At the afternoon function covered by ZimEye.com, she added while speaking about policy issues. “I would just like to mention three policy issues that we see as critical, to enable jobs and growth and to build the agricultural sector: the first one is very obvious – building confidence and attracting private sector investments.
“We would want to see an agricultural policy that would safeguard property, and a review of the Land policy, and implementation to revise the indigenization policy will be able to provide the (property) safeguards.
“These are difficult issues but ultimately the progress of the country seems not to be made unless Zimbabweans can talk to themselves and it is for Zimbabweans to resolve how to manage those issues,” she said.
