The world football governing body Fifa has ordered

Zifa to hold elections following the expiry of the

term of office of the Philip Chiyangwa led board.

In the latest communication, Fifa has indicated Zifa should

respect its constitution and hold elections following

the expiry of the previous board’s mandate on 31

March.

Interestingly Fifa’s response came after Zifa had  tried

on Tuesday to silence  critical voices- issuing a

statement denigrating the Sports and Recreation

Commission, former  association presidents and

some members of the media.

Zifa through its lawyer Itai Ndudzo

insists that Chiyangwa still has two more years to

serve as board president.
