By Paul Nyathi|Leader of the splinter opposition MDC-T Thokozani Khupe will launch her party’s election manifesto in Bulawayo on Saturday.

The party will unveil the manifesto code named BEST, which stands for Building an Economy to Support Transformation at the Bulawayo Amphitheatre.

Party Deputy President Obert Gutu briefly unpacked the manifesto in an interview on Friday indicating that the manifesto will focus on economic transformation and return to democracy in the country.

“We will unveil the BEST for Zimbabwe on Saturday and call upon all Zimbabweans to come and witness the launch of this manifesto,” said Gutu.

The splinter MDC-T held its congress in Bulawayo last month where it elected new leadership ahead of the elections due in July this year.

Khupe insists that her party is the genuine MDC-T from the mainstream party led by Nelson Chamisa. She insists that the party will also contest elections in the MDC-T name.

The issue of the leadership of the party will be decided by the Supreme Court in Harare on the May 22.
