By Talent Gondo| One person died while two others were seriously injured (Friday) when a truck overloaded with timber overturned at the 6 kilometre peg along the Mazowe Jumbo road.
The truck which was being driven by Jeremiah Nheweyembwa (30) from Waterfalls, Harare, overturned and trapped the other passengers in the vehicle.
Mashonaland Central acting police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Petros Masikati confirmed the incident but could not disclose the name of the deceased.
“We received that report and the name of the deceased is not yet known, but he is a male adult,” said Inspector Masikati.
He however identified the other two passengers who were seriously injured in the accident.
“Moris Kahwema (29) from Marondera and Tauya Shonhiwa (24) were seriously injured in the accident and they are currently admitted at Parirenyatwa Hospital.”
Masikati urged drivers to secure their loads to avoid the unnecessary loss of lives.
