By Own Correspondent| Andrew Nyakatawe (52), an MDC T official in Makoni Central was on Friday night allegedly abducted in Mabvazuva township, Rusape by people suspected to be members of the Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO).

In a facebook post, Pishai Muchauraya, an MDC T official, alleged that the suspected CIO operatives took Nyakatawe to Nyamapembera river about 10 km out of Rusape towards Nyazura where they assaulted him and stripped him naked.

“They assaulted him before stripping him naked and left him in the middle of the bush,” alleged Muchauraya.

“They accused him of supporting Patrick Sagandira one of the party’s parliamentary hopefuls in Makoni Central.”

Muchauraya said Nyakatawe travelled back to Rusape naked before a good Samaritan offered him clothes at Vhudzi farm.

“He had to make the trip back to Rusape on foot in his birth costume before a good Samaritan offered him clothes at Vhudzi farm,” said Muchauraya.

Nyakatawe reported the matter at Rusape police station but no arrests were made.

Efforts to get a comment from the police were futile.
