What is now clear is that someone falsified Chamisa’s original Mat South rally statement and used that to raise questions at Kagame; Rwanda’s President did not know he was responding to a fake statement. This can be seen in the below tweet.

Responding to this, MDC Alliance principal, Tendai Biti who also met Kagame said, “the hysteric propaganda around Rwanda and @PaulKagame is sad and unfortunate. Our message was clear , we respect and admire the progress that Rwanda has made. Anything else is fake news.”
