Political parties are in different states of preparedness ahead of the sitting of the nomination court in two-days time with some bemoaning the unavailability of the voters roll as an impediment to the nomination process.

Some minority political parties have since chickened out of the race citing an unlevel playing field as they lost a Constitutional Court application seeking to be given political parties funding.

That is the case with the Zimbabwe Development Party (ZDP) led by Kisinoti Mukwazhi as well as the Voice of the People (VOP) led by Moreprcision Muzadzi.

However, Coalition of Democrats (CODE) presidential candidate, Elton Mangoma said they are ready for the nomination court proceedings but the unavailability of the voters roll may lead in some of their candidates being affected thereby disadvantaging them.

Meanwhile, an outfit calling itself Voter Apathy claimed to be having a membership of more than 1,5 million registered voters who will abstain voting, arguing that the political parties participating in the 2018 harmonised polls lack integrity and do not respect their interests.

The democratic process of selecting the country’s leaders comes at a time the new administration is preaching peace before during and after the elections.
