The Herald newspaper’s attempt to defame the MDC Alliance claiming they plagiarized South African constitution has back fired after it emerged the whole document is actual from section 194 of Zimbabwe’s constitution.

The State Media ran an article titled ‘MDC partners plagiarized SA Constitution’ claiming the party had plagiarized South Africa’s constitution in their election manifesto launched Thursday last week.

It has emerged that the actual section was pulled from the Zimbabwe Constitution under section 194.

In response to the malicious accusations, MDC Alliance’s Tendai Biti has labelled The Herald as pathetic, after the national newspaper failed to show knowledge of its country’s constitution.

‘ The @HeraldZimbabwe is pathetic. Our principles of corporate governance are in fact derived from section 194 of the Zimbabwe Constitution which we happily used because it is our proud document .These principles both Zim and SA follow on the universal King s Report on C.G#GetaLife,’ said Tendai Biti in response to the article.
