The country’ s main opposition party, MDC has rejected appeals from disgruntled Parliamentary and local government candidates despite overwhelming evidence of rigging and imposition of candidates.
The Organising and Elections Departments have flatly refused to look into the grievances brought to the party headquarters in Harare – by disgruntled candidates.
Several aspiring candidates told ZimEye.com their documents were rejected by the national leadership.
“There is chaos in the party because the national leadership has rejected our genuine appeals.
I won the primary election but another candidate was imposed by the Provincial leadership,” said a disgruntled aspiring MP.
“I spent three days and three nights in Harare but nothing materialised.I was advised to embrace the situation on the ground,” said another aspiring candidate from Gutu District.
