ED Woes White Farmers: Promises An End To Land Invasions

By Own Correspondent| President Emmerson Mnangagwa who was in Chinhoyi today (Tuesday) promised white farmers that there will never be any more land invasions in Zimbabwe since the country was now under a new leadership.

Addressing a constituency of white farmers from Mashonaland West, in Chinhoyi, Mnangagwa said his government will guarantee farmers’ security and ownership of their land by ensuring that the issue of the 99 year leases is addressed post elections.

“We will address the issue of the 99 year leases. But that is one of the tasks we are going to do post elections…… to make sure that we achieve what we want to achieve, that is, to give security to people owning farms.

This issue of invasions and reinvasions should be a thing of the past. Things have changed.”

President Mnangagwa has in the past promised that there would be no more farm invasions in Zimbabwe, but pockets of invasions mostly orchestrated by Zanu pf stalwarts continue happening in Zimbabwe .

In January 2018, a video circulated which implicated one Solicitor Mutendi (from Masvingo) who tried to invade Mpapa Farm outside Triangle in the lowveld.

The owner of the farm, Shane Warth was ordered to wind off farming activities to pave way for Mutendi.
