By Own Correspondent| One person has been confirmed dead while at least 4 others are still missing and believed to be trapped following a high magnitude explosion at GMB Lion’s Den in Mashonaland West Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased, a GMB worker died following the explosion which left one of the silos on fire. The blast also blew huge pallets of concrete from the silos rendering them unusable.

The cause of the blast has not yet been confirmed although it is suspected that it could have been caused by an electrical fault.

Several other GMB workers who were also injured by the explosion were taken to hospital.

The Lion’s Den GMB is the country’s largest grain storage facility.
