Terrence Mawawa|Although the Lowveld is generally regarded as a stronghold for the ruling party, Zanu PF MP Ray Bhila stunned all and sundry when he polled 36 000 in Chiredzi North Constituency.

The man has finally broken the silence and he attributes his victory to hard work and commitment.

Speaking during the swearing in ceremony for Members of Parliament in Harare today Bhila said:”We will fight for the rights of our sugarcane farmers.Their concerns must be addressed. We will not remain idle and watch while they are being exploited by millers.

Why are people blaming the farmers yet they are not being compensated?” argued Bhila.

Bhila registered a resounding – yet controversial victory in the July 30 polls.
