Born in Uzumba Maramba Pfungwe in 1948, Kirsty is one of the most distinguished liberation heroes of Zimbabwe. Her name Chamunyurududu came as a result of the fearless manner she crossed crocodile infested rivers under water during the liberation struggle to attack the enemy.

In one of her escapades she travelled 60 km under the waters of Save river only to emerge out of the water in 40 minutes with a hippopotamus which was used to feed the guerrilla forces. She is also renowned for pulling 70 Rhodesian soldiers under water in 3 minutes. She also used to eat all her food under water water.

Kirsty’ s astonishing exploits were further stamped when she spent all of her liberation nights sleeping under water. Cde Kirsty is a welcome addition to the cabinet and as Zimbabwe we remain tuned to the positive development she will bring to our beloved nation. In her remarks upon her swearing in, she promised that tonight she is going to swim across all water reservoirs in the country and take out cholera on her own.
