By Own Correspondent| Vendors have been urged to utilise available space created by city council at designated vending sites amid revelations that City of Harare the only allocating authority for the new vending sites.
Addressing journalists at a press conference at the City of Harare (Friday), Harare Mayor Herbert Gomba revealed that more vending sites are being created to ensure that all vendors are allocated space at designated sites where they will carry out their vending work.
Said Mayor Gomba:
“Responding to stakeholder concerns over the movement of vendors from the city centre, the process is encouraging.
Only City of Harare is the allocating authority. We would like to inform the public that space has been created where registration with council is being done.
More sites are being made available in our neighborhood where makeshift tents are being erected on designated sites.
We encourage peaceful engagement and cooperation as we try to achieve world class city status.”
