Farai Dziva|The MDC A Masvingo Provincial Congress has begun in earnest.

The Congress is being held at Masvingo Sports club and thousands of party members are ready for the voting process.

While it is clear that Masvingo Province will nominate Nelson Chamisa for the presidency, the race for post of provincial chairperson has intensified.

Former MDC A Masvingo Urban MP Tongai Matutu is squaring off against current chairperson James Gumbi for the province’s most powerful post.

Speaking on the Provincial Congress, party official Jeffryson Chitando said:”By the look of things Tongai Matutu has the upper hand.

Gumbi has been rejected by the people of Masvingo.It is now clear that Matutu will romp to victory,” said Chitando.
