Statement – On Tuesday night the US public broadcaster, Voice Of America published a story which communicates falsehoods to the Zimbabwean public and potentially demoralises victims of violence. The story concludes with two comments which state Emmerson Mnangagwa cannot be prosecuted for crimes against humanity.

1. What is suspicious is how the VOA journalists made a rushed report and sped to interview a ZANU PF minister, on a fake story and yet failed to do a simple Google search with the ICC reference number, as this will lead to the identity of the complainant and the case outline. Within seconds, the details VOA they failed on, will be found. So what was the rush?

The facts are:

2. At least one VOA journalist (Marvelous Mhlanga) was involved in an employment relationship with Emmerson Mnangagwa. She is even on camera presenting her CV to Mnangagwa begging for a job to do social engineering work for the ZANU PF government. The video is in the public domain and was filmed LIVE within 2 months of the fatal shootings last year.

3. Did VOA truly communicate with the ICC? The producer, Mr Ray Choto makes a false claim that the case was reported to the ICC by a protest group. That is totally false. The identities of the complainant in the ICC case is in the public domain.

In his article, Mr Ray Choto also claims the ICC case seeks to get Emmerson Mnangagwa prosecuted. Who told him that, the ICC? That can only be false as the contents in the report are clear.
