Own Correspondent| There was chaos today morning at the Glen View Council District Offices after Council officials refuse to accept swipe payments preferring cash payments.

However the move to demand cash was resisted by ratepayers until the officials threw in the towel.

“We want to be rates compliant and the money we are paying is your salary, there is electricity and we will not take any excuses.”Said an angry old man.

The residents refuse to be addressed by the revenue officer but demanded to make payments.
The refusal to accept rates payment comes at a time when the Mayor of Harare and City Officials have been blaming ratepayers for non payment of rates.
