By A Correspondent- A photo that is circulating on social media shows a civil application document that says Chief Justice Malaba will hear the case between VP Chiwenga and his estranged wife Marry in his urgent chambers on Monday.

The civil application document in circulation on social media reads:

Take note that the above urgent chamber(between CGND CHiwenga and M Mubaiwa Chiwenga) will be heard before the honourable Malaba CJ in chambers at Mashonganyika Building on Monday the 3rd of February 2020 at 11am or so soon thereafter as council maybe heard.

Advocate Fadzayi Mahere commenting on the issue on Twitter said:

I have no skin in the game & I’m unaware of the salient facts but the CJ has no jurisdiction under the Supreme Court Act to hear an appeal sitting as a single judge in Chambers. This is more likely an application to determine whether the actual appeal should be heard urgently.
