Own Correspondent|Former Kenyan President Daniel Arap Moi has died at the age of 95.

President Uhuru Kenyatta shared a proclamation statement confirming the passing on of Moi.

The former Head of State has been ailing for a long time and has been in and out of hospital for a number of years.

According to reports the former president was admitted to the Nairobi Hospital on Saturday after he developed breathing complications.

That was the second time in two weeks that the 95-year-old former president was being attended to at the city hospital.
