ZwelinzimaVavi is the general secretary of South African Federation of trade Union (SAFTU). This week Zwelinzima vavi tested positive for Covid-19. We can see on social media since this week Zwelinzima have been documenting his Journey towards recovery.

After having persistent flu-like symptoms for days Zwelinzima confirmed the news about his diagnosis on Thursday in a live enterview with eNCA.

On Saturday he posted a video clip of himself, he is very much determined on beating the illness as he can be seen on the video sweating heavily.

Zwelinzima vowed in a clip that “we are made of stern stuff and he also vowed that ” corona have finally met its match” and he declared coronavirus to die.

Among different people coronavirus can cause varying levels of severity and symptoms and it specifically differs according to overall health and age.

Vavi is 57 years old which place him in the average group, the true danger zone is 70 or older of which Vavi is not near the age because older people or people with pre-existing conditions tend to fare worst.

Vavi had no idea where he might have contracted the virus. His last meeting was held before the lockdown was imposed which was for political and ideological with fellow SAFTU members.

He went into a self imposed quarantine period and his family members at home would also be tested.
