World Health Day: Battle Against Coronavirus Intensifies
8 April 2020
Spread the love

By Dr Ellane Simon

The day is celebrated on the 7th of April every year.

The day was set aside by the World Health Organization (WHO) to promote awareness to different health topics.

The theme for 2020 is to: Honour contribution of nurses and midwives. Since we are in the Coronavirus era (COVID-19) all health workers playing a role in the fight against the pandemic are to be celebrated and thanked.

Health is a complete physical, mental and social well-being not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.Let’s keep ourselves health.

For the physical well-being we should always exercise and eat healthy to keep our bodies in shape and reduce risk factors for heart disease, hypertension, obesity, diabetes mellitus and stroke.

Mentally we should always confide to our loved one and those we love to always keep a healthy mindset. Always think positive. Socially in our workplaces and homes let’s interact well with others.

Encourage one another. Even in this period where there are lock downs all these things can be achieved.

Always keep yourself in good shape and let’s unite in celebrating World Health Day.
