Economic Freedom Fighter leader, Julius Malema has lashed out on landlords demanding rent from their tenants during lockdown, saying they must ‘voetsek’.

Malema was responding to a letter shared by a social media user who claimed that his landlord has given him until the 1st of May to settle the rent for the month.

Following Malema’s response, some people agreed with him, saying that the landlord was being unfair by expecting rent to be paid while some people are not getting salaries due to the lockdown.

During this lockdown period it stands to reason that some tenants might experience some difficult in meeting their monthly obligations in terms of rent.
