By A Correspondent- It’s a one-man versus village case, after a 50-year-old man accused of killing his neighbour’s son fell out of favour with the village.
Onisimo Mazvi from Mtanga Village in Gokwe area was branded a wizard because tsikamutandas allegedly found him with a claypot smeared with fresh blood which they said was behind the death of Kind Mfupi’s son.
As such, villagers have turned their backs against him.
Now being accused by villagers, Mazvi is angry.
“Mfupi goes around telling people that I am a wizard and I killed his child. When I tried to reason with him he chased me from his homestead, told me to never cross his path because he would kill me,” said Mazvi.
He told B-Metro that concerning the issue his conscience was clear.
“I don’t want anything to do with those prophets. They have caused me so much pain. I hate them. How could they go around deceiving people?” said Mpofu.
However, he did not want to talk about the claypot incident.
“I have nothing to say about that,” he said adding that the tskimutandas knew the real story.
But the villagers are convinced Mazvi has a case to answer.
“The only reason Mfupi hasn’t killed him is because he fears the law. Whenever he sees Mazvi, his heart bleeds for his only son whom he killed,” said a source, adding that Mazvi intended to use the child as a goblin.
Efforts to get hold of Mfupi were fruitless.
