Munyaradzi Kereke

Former Central Bank Governor’s adviser and businessman Munyaradzi Kereke is in court again with a fresh appeal against the 10 year sentence he is serving for his rape charge.

According to documents which have leaked, the Zanu PF politician is said to have made a deal with Sakunda owner Kudakwashe Tagwirei who is the right handman of the president of Zimbabwe.

Tagwirei in the deal was given the authority to turn Rock Foundation Medical Center into a covid-19 center following the death of Zororo Makamba to cater for top government officials in case they get infected by the coronavirus.

Analysts who are familiar with the Zimbabwean political trends are now fully aware of what to expect after such an open secret was done in the eyes of the public. It is very easy to predict what will be the outcome of the High Court appeal which Kereke has presented.

It is the second time that Kereke has pleaded against the 10 year sentence he received in 2016 for raping his 11 year old niece at his Vainona home in Harare.

He has always maintained the stance that he is innocent against the magistrate Noel Mupeiwa who convicted him citing he erred in finding out he was guilty.

Tagwirei is known to be getting rich off the corrupt deals he gets through his connections in Zanu PF and the deal with Kereke makes it as good as a win for Kereke’s appeal as the judiciary is known to be captured by the ruling party.
