President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s usually huge motorcade was reportedly involved in a pile-up road accident in Kwekwe on Saturday.
Midlands News revealed on Sunday that the accident happened a few kilometres from the Kwekwe CBD close to Central Street in Newtown a residential area in the mining town.
Police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyati could not confirm the incident to the media citing lack of details,
It was not clear whether Mnangagwa’s official ‘Zim 1’ Merc was amongst the vehicles that usually escort the Zimbabwean leader.
The accident comes barely three months after First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa’s motorcade was involved in an accident in the same area resulting in the death of a minor.
The first lady also had another accident in Muzarabani, killing one of her top aides while three of her bodyguards were seriously injured.
Mnangagwa spends most weekends at his Precabe Farm in Kwekwe’s Sherwood resettlement area.
