‘ED Must Go’ Police Officer Freed On Bail

ZLHR: In Harare, lawyers has just secured freedom for Milton Murairwa, a police member, who was detained after he was arrested Friday & charged with insulting President Mnangagwa for allegedly posting a message which reads “ED Must Go” on a WhatsApp group for Mbare police officers

Murairwa was freed on RTGS$3 000 bail by Magistrate Mangosi after his lawyer Moses Nkomo applied for his release from custody. As part of bail conditions, Murairwa was also ordered not to interfere with state witnesses & to continue residing at his given address.

Murairwa is the second police member to be arrested & charged with insulting President Mnangagwa in less than two months after @PoliceZimbabwe in June apprehended Shungudzemoyo Kache for committing the same offence.
