MDC ALLIANCE NAMIBIA’S SOLIDARITY STATEMENT ON THE ILLEGAL ARREST OF VICE-CHAIR JOB WIWA SIKHALA.
Mdc Alliance Namibia was perturbed by the unconstitutional arrest of the ardent social democrat, Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala in Harare.
His arbitrary arrest came as a futile attempt to mute the clarion call for democratic confrontation against Zanupf’s senseless corruption, looting, abductions, torture, graft, heavy-handedness of the security forces and politicisation of the justice system.
Our dedicated and committed Vice-Chairperson has endured incessant incarceration and torture since the inception of the People’s project in 1999. He is being persecuted by the regime to break his resolve to call for action against Zanupf repression.
Sikhala was arrested for his loud call for the nation to embrace organic and pragmatic politics by confronting the beast in the eye through protracted demonstrations country wide against rampant corruption.
Our leader is an officer of Court, he is well-versed in the constitutional mechanisms to deal with dictatorship.
We are convinced that the right to peaceful protests is enshrined in the constitution of the country. It is a fundamental right to express your discontentment freely in a democratic Zimbabwe.
Mdc Alliance Namibia is committed to continue piling political and diplomatic pressure on the satanic regime. Their attempt to stifle democracy to pave way for an authoritarian environment must be resisted with equal measure.
Furthermore, Wiwa was on the list of wanted Mdc Alliance activists and trade union leaders for an interview with the police over the July 31st anti-government protests. Our leader never mobilised a coup against the rogue regime but the exploitation of democratic utensils to unseat an incompetent and politically inept government.
The unlawful detention of our leader and the murder of our councillor will not stop the 31st July Movement. In the diaspora, we are solidly behind Job Wiwa Sikhala and we demand his unconditional release. #zimbabweanlivesmatter. #releasewiwa. We shall continue to petition Zimbabwe embassies around the world.
In a nutshell, we urge all Social democrats in the national democratic revolution to give solidarity to our esteemed leader.
Mdc Alliance Namibia demands the immediate release of our vibrant Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala. He is right to instigate a democratic fight for a people’s government and better livelihoods.
We can’t have liberation without personal liberties. His dreams and aspirations for a new Great Zimbabwe are quite inspiring. Lets continue fighting for the emancipation of all prisoners of conscience
Zanupf Satanists must be resisted with equal measure. Zimbabweans must all rise against Zanupf induced poverty and clampdown on the advocates personal freedoms, economic and political liberation. Zanupf regime has grabbed too much for the citizenry to ignore
