Tinashe Sambiri|The high incidence of COVID-19 cases in Zimbabwe is a direct result of Mr Emmerson Mnangagwa regime’s gross incompetence, MDC Alliance vice president, Hon Tendai Biti has said.

Hon Biti argued the fragile health system has been further stretched by the escalating COVID-19 cases.

“The National Health System has collapsed . Long before the Covid implosion a vulnerable health delivery system had been mulcted by shortages, corruption&poor wages .With the Covid implosion, a fragile system has all but collapsed. This man has failed and failed in absolute terms,” argued Hon Biti.

“The new Covid Regulations SI10
of 2021 are a potpourri of confusion and disaster .

Policy making should never be knee jerk . It should always be subject to expert advice.
The decision to tighten LockDown is a complete disaster that will affect livelihoods .

The illegitimate regime has no capacity to govern. Focus should have been on more tests, face masks , social distancing , sanitizaton and restrictions on entry from Countries with new Covid variants.
