By A Corrrespondent- The coronavirus has hit the Zimbabwean presidium after Vice Presidents Constantino Chiwenga and Kembo Mohadi reportedly tested positive for the deadly virus while president Emmerson Mnangagwa spent 14 days self-isolating after interacting with cabinet ministers who contracted the virus.

The development is alleged to be the reason why president Mnangagwa had to shorten his annual leave since there was no acting president.

The Independent also reports revelations carried by ZimEye two days ago that president Mnangagwa’s confidante and business mogul, Kuda Tagwirei is also grappling with the novel virus.

Mohadi was the first to act and then disappeared from the public arena before Chiwenga emerged with reports suggesting that he was ill.

The duo missed Thursday’s double burial of Dr Ellen Gwaradzimba and Morton Malianga at the National Heroes Acre which was presided over by President Mnangagwa.

The Independent says it was told that Mnangagwa’s self-isolation was a precautionary measure since he felt he had been exposed to cabinet ministers who eventually tested positive for the coronavirus.

The virus has since taken a number of prominent people and government officials including the former minister of Foreign Affairs, Retired Lieutenant General Sibusiso Moyo and former lands minister Perrance Shiri.

Where is Kuda Tagwirei, at home, or at the prestigious hospital he personally funded and is now reportedly under the clinical care of?

The development comes after top aide close to businessman, Kuda Tagwirei two days ago speaking to ZimEye dismissed reports circulating claiming the man has succumbed to COVID-19.

These also follow Gokwe Nembudziya MP Justice Wadyajena who announced a death message suggesting Tagwirei has passed on.

Wadyajena who accuses Tagwirei of conducting a super-spreader party at the new year, once alleged that Tagwirei at one time fled the country with his family to the United Kingdom after his fuel company, Sakunda Holdings’ accounts were frozen by the RBZ.

He said of Tagwirei in October 2019″ he fled with his 3 kids in the middle of school term on 1 way tickets to UK.”

This time, the youthful Midlands MP has painted a picture of a dying Tagwirei on social media.

But contacted by ZimEye, Tagwjrei’s aide Hon Tino Machakaire said the allegations are not true.

“It’s not true, no, he is okay” he said.

Asked further, he added saying, ” no he is ok, he is alright, he is fine.”

Asked about reports of Tagwirei being hospitalised, he said, “aah I don’t know what his agenda is, but maybe he is dealing with speculation,” he told ZimEye.

At the time of writing calls to the businessman were failing, amid continuous ringtones and then sudden hang ups. ZimEye will keep are viewers and listeners updated of events as they unravel.
