By Own Correspondent- Zimbabwe Achievers Awards (ZAA) last night held their first virtual awards ceremony for the combined ZAA USA-Canada editions in an event sponsored by WorldRemit held across various online platforms.
The combined event was held virtually in adherence to lockdown regulations regarding public gatherings due to Covid-19 and saw Zimbabwean achievers based in the USA and Canada get honored for their exploits.
“We are so proud of the achievements of Zimbabweans who keep defying odds and raising the flag wherever they are in the world.”
“As we celebrate and honour those in the USA and Canada, we also salute the efforts of every achiever around the world doing their best especially in such trying times. Let us celebrate each other as always,” said ZAA Chairman Conrad Mwanza.
The event was hosted by Canadian-based duo of Otni and Ruvi TV, with entertainment provided by SA-based musician Nox Guni who gave a sterling musical performance.
Notable winners on the night included teen motorcross sensation and humanitarian Tanya Muzinda, Zivanayi Masango, actor Tongayi Arnold Chirisa and Amanda Nothando as well as double award winner Malume Thamu of Asakhane Live for ZAA USA and ZAA Canada, respectively.
The event marked the second edition for ZAA Canada and the fifth for ZAA USA and was sponsored by WorldRemit, ZororoPhumulani and Burmain Properties.
ZAA is an international awards brand founded in 2010 to recognize, honor and celebrate high achievement by global Zimbabweans, with annual awards galas held in ZAA editions in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, South Africa and Botswana.
