Tinashe Sambiri|MDC MDC Alliance vice president Hon Tendai Biti has described the decision by Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration to extend the lockdown without putting in place proper safety nets as ridiculous.

On Monday Mr Mnangagwa extended the lockdown by two weeks.

Political analysts say Mr Mnangagwa is using the lockdown to close democratic space.

“The extension of the lockdown in the absence of social safety nets and a stimulus for business is pointless, harsh and ridiculous.

Regime needs to test and to have a roll out plan for vaccines It does not. Lock down decisions should be made on science & science alone not authoritarian whim,” Hon Biti argued.
