MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa has responded to President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s “No Zambia in Zimbabwe” averments saying leadership occurs in turns.
Responding to Mnangagwa, Chamisa posted on his microblogging Twitter handle saying: “The people shall govern…In our own traditional wisdom, there is an idiom that says “Ubukhosi ngamazolo” or “Ushe madzoro” literally meaning that leadership is best that occurs in turns.”
Chamisa also warned Mnangagwa saying “the era of “strong men” or “vana handiende” who abuse state institutions is over.”
The youthful leader said the ruling Zanu PF should desist from abusing the electoral bodies such as the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) and the military in order to win elections. This comes after Mnangagwa vowed that the country’s opposition leaders will never rule Zimbabwe saying those thinking of ruling Zimbabwe must continue day dreaming.
Mnangagwa who is the ruling Zanu PF leader, made the statements on Thursday morning at Mutare Aerodrome when addressing hundreds of party supporters who had come to meet him.
The President was on his way to Feruka Oil Refinery plant in Mutare where he commissioned the multi-million Medical Oxygen and Industrial gas plant.
“There are others who are dreaming of what has happened in Zambia thinking it will also happen in Zimbabwe, no no no but, let me tell you that they are dreaming. They think that this will also happen in Zimbabwe,” said Mnanagwa.
“If they think so, they should wake up from their sleep and seek help from their ancestors by performing a traditional beer ritual,” said Mnangagwa.
