By A Correspondent- Zambia’s President, Hikainde Hichilema, said they had no previous relations with President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his Zanu PF party.

This was said by Hichilema’s party, the United Party for National Development (UPND) spokesperson Joseph Kalimbwe when he responded to Mnangagwa spokesperson George Charamba’s careless statement against their leader.

Charamba had repeated his early this year Tweet where he labelled UPND leader and now Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema a sellout.

Mnangagwa’s spokesperson repeated the same utterances this week despite Hichilema winning the Zambia elections.

Hichilema’s Party spokesperson Joseph Kalimbwe told NewsDay that it was wrong for Charamba to attack his boss when there was no previous relationship with the new Zambian leader.

“In my own personal view, it is catastrophic. (The comments) cannot be taken lightly. What is worrisome is that he is using a fake name because he cannot come out openly as a spokesperson of a head of State to be saying such shameless statements,” he angrily said.
