ZCTU Turns Down Mwonzora Invitation To Attend 22nd Anniversary

By A Correspondent| The Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Union (ZCTU) turned down an invitation to attend the Douglas Mwonzora led MDC-T’s 22nd anniversary celebrations held at the party headquarters at Morgan Tsvangirai house on Sunday.

According to MDC-T Organising Secretary Gift Chimanikire, they send invitations to current ZCTU leadership but were told that the labour movement is aligned to the Nelson Chamisa’s MDC Alliance.

“I understand kuti when we send an invitation to the current ZCTU kuti huyai kuno, vamwe vacho vakati tiri kwa Chamisa, iyazve, waivapo here patakatanga, wanga asipo, ndowataipa lift, kumutakura from one place to another tichienda kwakasiyana siyana, kumba uko anga ane ma trouse maviri ekhakhi nemashirt maviri ekhakhi, ndichivatakura mumota mangu imi, zvino kana learner roti instructor we driving ndiye ava learner, chingava chokwadi ichocho,” said Chimanikire.

Chamisa’s MDC Alliance held its own celebrations on Saturday in Bulawayo with the event disrupted by police who said it had not been sanctioned.
