By A Correspondent- The gay community in Zimbabwe continues to live in fear of their lives in a country which is intolerant to freedom of association.

Samuel Matsikure, a senior officer with the gay rights lobby grouping, Gays and Lesbians of Zimbabwe (GALZ) was in 2014 left for dead by state security agents at their (GALZ) private party in the capital.

Matsikure posted a disturbing picture of him after the attack and commented that they were still under siege.

“My Narration of #LGBTIQ experiences & struggles in #Zimbabwe is through my own eyes and ears. The reality and perception of what life is & could be for #Queer folk. It is a narration of those I have journeyed with, interacted with, those who have shared their stories with me. It doesn’t tell a full story but one chapter of one among millions. It can never be representative but rich in its own way in the struggle for #recognition #equality #Justice #KnowYourConstitution #munhumunhu #OurScarsZw #OurLivedRealities #ourdata (2014 Image)”, he posted on his Facebook page Tuesday.
